First method to change the color tone of your image in black and white is to use the easy access and the method of the layer of color saturation. This method completely de-saturates all pale colors in your image and converts it into a black and white colorless. Now, after the acquisition of the desired image, it is recommended to create a double bottom and name it accordingly. Then you need to separate the lights and shadows of your image. To do this, go to the Layers palette and click on "create a new filling" to select "Threshold". Selecting "threshold" will transform your photo to black and white. You will notice a slider also opened. Now the cursor, keep changing your image until you are satisfied with the separation of black and white ratio in the image.
Now you need to create around two layers of hue and saturation. These are two images, one being the inverse of the first. Then click the "magic wand" tool to check if the tolerance is 100 percent. Now select all the white part of the picture by clicking on a blank part of the image. You can mix the white color a bit for better effects by selecting the "Feather" option and change the radius of 15 pixels.
Now when you select the "create a new filling", you can see a new layer containing the mask that opens absolutely like your picture. Afterwards, save the new layer by clicking on 'OK' and rename this new layer as highlights.
Select the "magic wand" option for the last time and this time click on the black area in the image. You can select a pen again to build another layer of saturation. Click 'Ok' and save this new layer as "shadows" ....
